The missing Malaysian plane remains a mystery. It is almost 2 days since the plane disappeared with 239 people on board. When I grew up if that happened, we would consider the aircraft had a technical problem or this had something to do with the Bermuda Triangle. Not today, we think of terrorism and hijacking. How times have changed.
It seems the more evolved we become the greater the aggression and violence we see. I love this new advert by Lynx, if only it was that simple. “Make Love Not War!” A little spray of deodorant doesn’t change the world. But, we shouldn’t lose heart. It is not just in the big acts that we find positive change on what at times seems like a world hell bent on destroying itself. Small acts of loving kindness brings change.
Something very unusual happened on Christmas Day in 1914. British and German soldiers had been fighting each other for several months – by that time around 40,000 Britons alone had lost their lives – but then they stopped to play each other at football!
Even in the midst of war there are glimmers of hope. The human spirit rises.
I believe we are living in exciting times, every so often a head is raised above the parapet to say loud and clear, “Make Love Not War!” Think of John Lennon. I think there is a growing uprising. Those that would propagate violence are outnumbered by those who are seeking peace in the world.
