It made me think, about what goals and dreams I have. Some of those have felt as possible or likely as flying to the moon. But we can achieve what we desire. Sometimes not in the way we have imagined or planned but we can accomplish far more than we imagine. The problem is that we often allow limiting beliefs to stop us. We tell ourselves that we can’t, we are not good enough, not smart enough to achieve certain things. We allow what others have said to us to limit us. We accept what they have said. We allow past failures to keep ourselves on the couch.
It is easier to cultivate an “I can’t” mind set than to have a positive “I can and I will” attitude. Being aware of those limiting beliefs and addressing them is one good way of positively addressing them.
Do you remember the Harry Potter film when the Hogwarts studens were shown the Riddikuius spell? It is a spell that counteracts a Boggart’s ability to terrorise. The Boggart metamorphoses into the physical form of the greatest fear of the person before it. The Boggarts are defeated by laughter, using the Riddikuius charm the spellcaster has to imagine something amusing. So the frightening image becomes something funny.
Think for a moment, what are your dreams. As you think of them, what negative thoughts put you off even attempting those? Wouldn’t it be great if you could deal with those and realise your dream? You can!
